Diao Chan by Redkun Diao Chan by Redkun
Lex as Diao Chan from Dynasty Warriors 6. Taken at Aya Revolution 2009, at the Warwick Arts Centre.

This was the first time I've ever used proper studio equipment, and I greatly enjoyed the experience. The lighting really brings out the detail that Lex put into this costume. The pose is based off one of her poses in the artbook.

Edit: Did a little bit of editing work to balance the contrast and colours a bit more.

WOW! I think this is one of Lex's greatest costumes. There's just so much detail and it looks perfect, not a loose thread in sight haha! I am in love with the tie dye in the skirt and the detailing in the top *_* And the croooown~

You've done a fantastic job in capturing such an awesome shot that brings out every detail. And your very lucky you got to play around with studio equipment!

I was so T_T that Lex fell ill after all the work she put into this, and that I didn't get to drag her out to take pretty pictures..

Contrast seems a little high to me? The sleeves/top almost look pure black, but the skirt comes out absolutely gorgeously

I was really lucky, right place at the right time. I'm sure she'll wear it again after she put so much effort into it.

I checked the original photo, the sleeves came out pretty dark in those too. Some of the other photos I took of her let the sleeves come out a little better... they were pretty dark purple though.

Superb, good contrast and color, an outfit like that would certainly make you stand out in a crowd... :)

I didn't get to see Lex in this cause by the time I came up to HQ she was felling ick and had covered up.

Its such a gorgeous costume and I think you captured it really well. The detail is insane, and she suits it so well. I love it. :]

She didn't wear it for very long, I just happened to be in cosplay HQ for the few minutes she was, and was playing with the studio at the time.

It was really nice in person, I'm sure she'll wear it again at some point.

I like the costume design, but something makes me think it's made of plastic? Like it's just something you baught in a costume store... Otherwise i like it ;]

Lol! Lex didn't buy this. Seriously. There were progress pictures of the flowers which are hand cut, hand dip-dyed and sewn together. She made everything by hand. ^^

Well It's Beautifull, but there's just something that ( in my oppinion) doesn't fit. Maybe the background, maybe the model, maybe the way she's standing. Maybe the face expression. Are you thinking about putting another backround on later? I think it could help with another backround... But it depends on what you're going to use it for ;] Just my oppinion! :D

I guess it's like a complement to have someone think that your costume is professionally-made and store-bought when you actually made it yourself.
